Christine (Chris) Metcalf, CASAC
School Counselor
After working in a number of New York City hospitals as a Register Nurse Chris Metcalf has spent the last 25 years employed by the North Rockland Central School District as both a Nurse and School Counselor. It has been in the position as a School Counselor that Mrs. Metcalf found her professional passion; working with people affected by substance abuse. Mrs. Metcalf became a Certified Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) which led to the founding of The Sunshine Program, a counseling and prevention program for at risk children and children of substance abusers. Through this program Mrs. Metcalf has helped countless children stop the cycle of substance abuse.
Mrs. Metcalf's work does not end with children. She shares her knowledge and unique insight both as an adjunct Professor at the College of New Rochelle and at such prestigious venues as the National Impact II Conference in Washington, DC., which she was honored to be the Chairperson for the At-Risk Panel. Mrs. Metcalf is considered an authority on the Theory and Prevention of Drug Abuse.
