THE PROBLEM
Bullying is a problem that is often times dismissed, ignored, or swept under the carpet.  Adults will rationalize this unacceptable behavior as “kids being kids.”  However, the lasting effects of bullying are to severe, for both the victim and the bully, to be ignored.

  • 160,000 students stay home from school everyday in the United Sates due to bullying.
  • Bullying can effect academics, self esteem, behavior, appetite, anxiety, stress, depression, …
  • A child that is identified as a BULLY by the age of 8 and is allowed to continue such behavior is 6 times more likely to become a criminal. 

’s SOLUTION
The American Athletic Institute’s Bullying program is activity driven and participation based.  The audience will share stories and experiences of bullying experiences whether it as a victim, bully or a bystander.  We will define bullying, identify the types of bullying, the reasons for bullying, and give techniques and strategies to stop bullying.   

’s DEFINITION

“Bullying is unfair, one-sided and involves the tormenting of others through verbal, physical, or other more subtle methods. Bullying always involves an imbalance of power that is not based on physical size.”
