“to be able to take loss or defeat without complaint or victory without bragging. To treat his/her opponents with fairness, generosity, courtesy, and exhibit self control, not only on the field but in the classroom, playground, work and at all times.”
THE PROBLEM
In today’s society, where some professional athletes are less than stellar role models, we must remind our athletes what it means to be a good sport. Sportsmanship is about how one conducts themselves both on and off of the field, in front of others or out of the public’s eye.
’s SOLUTION
The American Athletic Institute’s workshop examines High School Athletics and the negative behavioral issues so prevalent in today’s sport. We will define what sportsmanship is and what types of behavior are acceptable or not. Topics such as teamwork, commitment, loyalty, honor, selflessness and character are just some of the themes that are discussed in this workshop.
