The president of the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association apologized after being arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence in Summit County.

“This is something that I take very seriously both as an individual and as a leader of our organization,” said William C. Marolt. “I apologize for any disruption this may cause to the organization for which I’m so passionate.”

Marolt, 66, was booked into Summit County jail on St. Patrick’s Day on suspicion of DUI, and failure to yield to an emergency vehicle, according to the Summit County Sheriff’s Office jail log. He was charged Thursday in Summit County Justice Court with misdemeanor DUI. (more…)
